Years of flying in a paper logbook? Send us photos of the pages. We read every row, check it against your page totals, ask you about anything that's hard to read, and send you a file that brings it all into GA Pilot Log.
You see what we've read, and settle anything we weren't sure of, before you're asked to pay.
One photo of each open spread, or the left and right pages separately. Phone photos are fine. Email them to us, or ask for an upload link if there are a lot.
Every row is read in order: dates, aircraft, crew, route and remarks, and each time column. Each page learns the aircraft, people and places from the pages before it.
Anything that's hard to read comes back as a plain question. "Is this VH-ABC or VH-ABG?" "These times don't add up to the page total. Which is right?" You answer once and it's fixed for the rest of the logbook.
Ruled-in columns and notes you've kept over the years, such as survey, ag, formation, fuel or passengers, can each become a custom field. Keep them, rename them, or leave them in the remarks.
When you're happy with what we've read, we send you a quote, priced per page. Pages we couldn't read aren't charged.
You get a file to open in GA Pilot Log under Logbook › Import from GA Logbook Convert. You see every flight before anything is added to your logbook.
Paper logbooks already carry their own check: the totals at the foot of every page. We use them.
Daylight near a window works best. Avoid the flash and your own shadow across the page.
Hold the phone above the page, not at an angle, with all four edges and the totals row in the photo.
Press the logbook open so the rows near the spine aren't curved away.
Take the pages front to back. Photos are put in order by their file names, the way your camera numbers them.
We currently read the Australian CASA-style pilot logbook. If yours is laid out differently (RAAus, FAA, EASA or your own), email us a photo of one page and we'll tell you whether we can do it.
It's priced per page, and you get a quote after you've seen what we've read and before you pay. Pages we couldn't read aren't charged; you can send a better photo of them instead.
Pages are read one after another, so a full logbook takes a little while. We'll let you know when yours is ready to check. The rest depends on how quickly you answer our questions.
No. Photos are all we need, and your logbook never leaves your hands. If you can't take the photos yourself, email us and we'll work something out.
Your photos are read by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, using our business account, and checked against your page totals. Anything it isn't sure of comes to you as a question. See our privacy policy for how your photos are handled and when they're deleted.
The file is made for GA Pilot Log. Once your flights are in GA Pilot Log you can export them as a spreadsheet (CSV) from Logbook › Export Spreadsheet.
It puts your history into GA Pilot Log so your totals and currency are complete. Keep your paper logbook too: it's the original record. In Australia, CASR 61.345 allows an electronic logbook; check your own situation with CASA or your examiner.
Tell us a little about your logbook and roughly how many pages it has, and we'll get you started.
