Common questions
How do I record a flight with Go Fly?
Open Go Fly and tap Start when you're ready to go. Tap Stop after you've landed. The flight is added to Flights with its times, airports and path, ready for you to check and complete. If you forget to stop, GA Pilot Log notices when you've slowed to taxi speed and reminds you.
Go Fly isn't recording my position.
Check that location access is allowed: Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › GA Pilot Log. Choose "While Using the App", or "Always" if you want to start flights from your Apple Watch while your iPhone is locked.
The Watch app says it can't reach my iPhone.
The Watch app controls Go Fly on your iPhone, so the two need to be connected. Keep your iPhone nearby with Bluetooth on, then open GA Pilot Log on the iPhone once. If it still doesn't connect, restart both devices.
I didn't get the reminder to stop the flight.
Allow notifications and alarms for GA Pilot Log: Settings › Notifications › GA Pilot Log. Also check that a Focus mode isn't silencing it.
My flights aren't syncing between devices.
Make sure every device is signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud Drive turned on and enough iCloud storage. Sync can take a few minutes, especially for photos. In the app, Logbook › Sync & Backup shows the sync status and tells you if it looks stuck.
How do I back up my logbook?
Your logbook is kept in your private iCloud automatically, and every device signed in to your Apple Account has a full copy. For a copy you can keep or hand to CASA, save a PDF from Logbook › Print Logbook (PDF).
How do I print my logbook for CASA?
Go to Logbook › Print Logbook (PDF). It's laid out like the Australian paper logbook on A4 landscape, with page totals, totals brought forward and a certification line for you to sign. Save the PDF or print it straight away.
Can I bring in my old paper logbook?
Yes. When we've converted your paper logbook, you'll get a file to open in Logbook › Import from Logbook Scan. You review the flights before anything is added.
